The DIY marketplace is looking for an ad campaign, and what else would you expect than a contest from within it's own talent pool. Etsy has opened up the floor to their handmade audience to more or less - hand-make a commercial about an Etsy Handmade Moment. aniBoom, the home of all things animation, have just announced the winner of their 2008 animation competition. This year the film that came out on top was the dark tale of a Voodoo doll, “Sebastian’s Voodoo.” This short is dark, enticing, technically elite, and as far as story and direction I was full of anxiety and cringes for extended periods of time. Whenever a film has that much of an affect on me I have to commend it. This young artist has a tone that seems prepared to follow in the footsteps of a Tim Burton. Well done!

The time has finally come, and because the quality of the work was so goodRadiohead chose and rewardedfour winners, rather than the proposed one in the contest they held with Aniboom.
My favorite has to be Transmutation by Tobias Stretch, i love the puppetry.
Massify is a production networking space for up and coming filmmakers. RSA is the world renowned production company formed by Ridley Scott and Tony Scott.
A dear friend of mine, Samah Tokmachi, has a short film that is a semi-finalist in the Now Film Festival. Missing Pieces, a comedy, is now appearing on MySpace where Samah needs feedback to help the film get off the web and into the Now Film Fest that will be screening in Los Angeles.
If you need more of a hook before you go watch it and vote for it, the word testicles appears in it more than a dozen times and it stars Rainn Wilson ( The Office, Six Feet Under.) A little star power never hurts anyone.
