I love everything about this world created by Grand Marnier. Can I be a silhouette on that balcony? A part of that party? Inspired by vintage french posters, the animation style is minimal and the bold colors can't help but grab your attention.

Animators at Studio 9K9 infused life into print materials of the same voice resulting in this enticing atmospheric animated spot.

Awesome movie intro: it's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World

This simple line drawn 2d animated intro is about as inspiring as it can get, in my eyes. The number of scenarios imagined out of a globe, or circle, or egg, is really impressive and entertaining - it just goes to show that a great idea really goes a long way. You can see such great title sequences as Catch Me if You Can and Anatomy of a Murder all echoing the style cues from this gem.

Get HIm to the Greek Animated spot for Adult Swim

boy i have had the hardest time finding a copy of this animated spot for Get Him to the Greek that i saw late one night on Adult Swim. I love it and i'm not sure why they don't spread it around the superweb (i'm talking to you adult swim..)

All i was able to find out was that it was produced by animation studio Titmouse specifically for adult swim...check it out below. (yes i know it's via someone's iphone taping their tv but i'll replace it once a good copy surfaces i promise!)

Thanksgiving Dinner

here's to remembering all of the years sitting around the card table with my siblings at grandma's house, sneaking around the corner to hear what the adults are talking about, eating so many snacks there isn't any room for dinner, and classic cartoon holiday specials. Happy Thanksgiving.

Why Don't Cartoons Change Their Clothes?

Well, Woolite's newest print campaign doesn't have the answer, but they are making sure their colors don't fade with all of the washing needed to keep that outfit clean day in and day out.

Being and animation, illustration and cartoon lover I was instantly drawn to this print campaign from Euro RSCG Puerto Rico. The image of these iconic outfits drying on the line gives such a sweet sense of whats going on behind the scenes of the classic cartoons. I also think the bright rich cartoon colors are a fantastic pairing for a product selling it's color stay capabilities. For Everyday Colors, really nice.

Knight Fever

Knight Fever is an animated short from Christopher Minos of CRUSH in the vein of a classic light-hearted Saturday morning cartoon, with a unique visual style that is part 2D and part 3D. Minos has been working on the film as a labor of love over the last 2 years with it's first public showing next week at the LA Short Film Festival.

Top Animated TV Show Intros

Boston Globe's Mathew Gilbert had a great post this week featuring the top sitcom intros. The list includes everything from The Sapranos to The Dick Van Dyke Show. When I didn't see The Simpsons there I started to think about what other animated intros would be nice to see together (ok there are some Muppets involved too)...so here goes...
