I think this is a really nice PSA. I love the animated overlays, paired with the message it makes something special that stands out in a time of countless worthy causes.
The ad promotes the Better World Campaign, you can find out more on their website: www.betterworldcampaign.org
Communications firm SS+K conceived and produced the PSA. Did Clooney direct the spot? If anyone knows I'd love to find out.
I can't help but feel like this is something out of 2001; a robot and a promotional stunt from the future to raise awareness for The Power of Dreams Music Education Fund. Honda's ASIMO robot ( Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) conducted the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in a rendition of The Impossible Dream, apparently already possible thanks to Honda. Amazing.
I can't help it, with the NY premiere last night it's everywhere I look. The interesting thing is, with all the hype; the bloggers, the celeb mags, and the guest appearances, I feel like I really haven't seen any traditional TV commercial advertising. Guess they didn't need it.
By paying homage to the viral hits of past Weezer has made their own viral success story. The video for "Pork and Beans" was released on Friday and already has over 3million views...
I'm heading out to Nantucket for a proper Massachusetts Memorial Day Weekend. In honor I thought I'd post an oldie but goodie, Tea Partay by Prep Unit.
Ok, I know I missed the mark a bit since the Celtics/Cavaliers match up has passed, but i thought this was a great ad regardless, and being a Bostonian I have to show the Celtics version. The choreography to get such great pairings of performances is pretty amazing.
As much as they make me sneezey and irritable in my adult life 'Dandelions' bring me back to a time when I was running around the front lawn with my siblings, playing hide n' seek in the neighborhood, and the last days of school before summer vacation.
This commercial brings a smile to my face every time it comes on the air. I'm not exactly sure why, it's a mix between a sexy vodka commercial and a Target Ad, nothing too revolutionary.
I think part of it may be that I'm missing the proximity to Vegas that living in LA had, the other part might be that it blows any other 'local' commercial out of the water. New England was in need of a little glitz and production value.
This animated message of 'Hope' by Pistachios of production company Blacklist is right up my alley. I love the hand made-crayon on construction paper look, and the message isn't bad either. Another outreach from the Barack Obama spearheaded hope.act.change foundation.
I found this over on Feed, and it might just be the most inspiring stop-motion animation I've ever seen. Composed with spray paint on a canvas of city walls, MUTO is just amazing, by BLU. You wont be able to take your eyes off of it, I couldn't.
What makes commercials filmed underwater so cool? This underwater sequence for Farmers Insurance is no exception, the circus imagery and creepy music only add to the already dreamy submerged scene. "Drowned Circus" was directed by Dante Ariola of MJZ.
Ok, i really just want a Vespa...really really want one...so what if it snows 5 months out of the year here, it snows that much in Canada or more and look how much they love them.I found this over at Adrants. Dentsu Canada created Vespa heads, via Fauxreel, to hang out with the locals in Canada's biggest cities.
I love VBS.tv... They have some of the most interesting content I've seen on any medium. This newest installment in the Toxic series Garbage Island really spoke to me, maybe it was The Deadliest Catch marathon yesterday, i dunno, it's just good.
When I saw these ads for Beaners, a Canadian Hair Salon specializing in kid's cuts, on Ads of the World they brought a smile to my face. I hope they do the same for you.
Have you seen this? Radiohead and aniboom have joined forces in a contest to create animated videos for the newest Radiohead album, In Rainbows. The first wave of the contest has already been completed and there are ten semifinalists. I am blown away by the quality of the work, and the diversity, it's really worth checking out all of the finalists works in progress.
Gotta love Radiohead, not only to they embrace their audience by asking them to name their price for the new album, but now they continue to engage them by inviting them to creative the videos, all the while further promoting the album.
I stumbled upon these ads for Australian Cuisine restaurant Reef n' Beef on Le Book. I love not only the concept but the execution of these barn yard regulars masquerading as Australian native game.
The photographer and stylist is Rebekka Ehlers whose portfolio is equally as playful as this campaign and not without it's share of costumes. The Creative Director is Simon Wooller and the Art Directors are David Ebbesen and Tobias MBS-Thomsen of Saatchi & Saatchi.
Did you watch the Kentucky Derby this weekend? Two hours of behind the scenes stories and Cialis Commercials and two minutes of action. I love the derby, like most women though what i love most is the hats. I know this doesn't have anything to do with advertising, but maybe there is something to think about in the fact that there really isn't too much brand identity associated with the Hat Parade at all. Why hasn't Kangol, Dobbs, or Tommy Bahama cashed in on this in some way?
Discovery channel has enlisted the Animals of Aardman Animation Studios to help spread the word about saving the planet. I love Aardman, especially their animals - reminds me of Aardman's Creature Comfortsfrom the early 1990's, my personal favorite.
Chromeo just release their own video for "Fancy Footwork" the tune featured in Three Legged Legs recent Zombie video for Zune. I like it - I wonder if they feel like they won and got two great videos for the song?
